The Grieving Family Vintage bowl
A quiet scene of tenderness and sorrow unfolds at the center of this one-of-a-kind vintage porcelain plate, where a weary mother sits surrounded by children in a moment suspended between comfort and grief. The image feels almost like a memory—soft, intimate, and heavy with the weight of care and loss.
This piece appeared in my recent installation In Memoriam, created with Veneration of Light for the Start Up Art Fair. Within the exhibition it formed part of a larger meditation on mourning, remembrance, and the fragile theater of human tenderness.
The ornate gilt decoration and delicate porcelain surface frame the scene like a relic rescued from a forgotten drawing room. It now stands as a singular object—part artwork, part Victorian echo.
